Southwest Pizza

Use a La Banderita 10" Flour Tortilla(OLE #2711) for your own Southwest Pizza. Lightly fry a tortilla till crispy, then cover with cooked black beans, diced Ole Chorizo Sausage(OLE #200), red chili salsa, grated cheddar cheese and a crumble of Ole Quesadilla Cheese(OLE #292). Want to make it a Mex-Italian fusion pizza? Just use marinara sauce, pepperoni and crumbled chorizo with grated mozzarella cheese ~ yummy!


  • 12 – La Banderita 10” Flour Tortilla
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1 lb. Ole’ Chorizo Sausage, cooked, diced
  • 1 (15oz.) can black beans, drained
  • 1 qt. Marinara Sauce
  • 6 cups Ole’ Quesadilla Cheese, shredded, divided
  • 3 cups Mozzarella cheese, grated, divided
  • Suggested Toppings: onions, olives, jalapeño peppers


  • Preheat oven 375 degrees.
  • Place skillet on medium-high heat and add diced Chorizo sausage and cook until done. Set sausage aside and wipe clean skillet.
  • Place skillet back over medium heat, pour enough vegetable oil to cover bottom of skillet.
  • When hot, lightly fry tortillas on each side and place on paper towel to drain.
  • On sheet pan, place fried tortillas side by side and cover with marinara sauce, and layer remaining ingredients on each tortillas.
  • Place in oven and cook them for 5 minutes or until cheese has melted.
  • Serve hot.
